Decreasing Healthcare Costs While Improving Care with Data Analytics

On May 8th, IntegerHealth Technologies is speaking at the SALGBA Annual Conference in Los Angeles (State and Local Government Benefits Association), on “Decreasing Healthcare Costs While Improving Care with Data Analytics.”

These analytics are powerful. A self-insured employer can scorch its healthcare costs, while improving the care that its employees receive. One employer with $114 million in medical claims identified $17 million in savings!

How does IntegerHealth do it? They’ve designed an analytics platform that holistically analyzes the entire healthcare value equation: the claims, the productivity costs of the employees being off work, and the outcomes of the care. As they combine the claims and HR records‒where the outcomes of the claims live‒they see the entire costs over the continuum of care, both the claims costs and the productivity costs, which can be several times the claims. IntegerHealth then uses this information to rank the doctors and other providers in the employer’s network by diagnosis (e.g. back pain, asthma, etc.), and steer the employees and their dependents to the high value doctors for their issues‒and away from the low value ones‒because good healthcare costs less than bad healthcare.
